What Does Itching Under The Arm Pit With Arm Swelling Indicate?
for about 10 days I have had persistent itching under my right arm pit towards the back. More recently been itching around my right shoulder blade and armpit. Last night my right arm swelled up. Has since gone down a bit but hand still feels a bit puffy. No external sign of anything except bruising where I have been itching.
I can understand your concern for severe itching in right axilla, right shoulder and back. There may be some cause for the itching like irritation, allergy or fungal infection. For the perfect diagnosis, you consult the dermatologist. Avoid the contact with soap, deodorant and talcum powder. Keep the area dry. If your doctor feels irritation or allergy,he would give oral steroid in tapering dose and application of mild steroid cream. if he thinks of fungal like ringworm infection,he would give antifungal like ketoconazole and application of antiffungal cream like clotrimazole cream. To relieve itching,he may give antihistaminic like cetirizine. Take bath in diluted dettol mixed water. Keep the area dry. Avoid worries and tension. Hope this helps.
