What Does It Mean By Diffuse Heterogeneous Soft Tissue Surrounding Periareolar Area In A Breast Sonogram Report?

Had a sonogram done of the right breast & said there is diffuse heterogenous soft tissue surrounding periareolar area w/ loss of nml fat planes, mass is ill-defined, softtissue is not hypermic, no discrete drainable fluid collection, uncertain etiology - the ddx includes stromal fibrosis, a phlegmon, hematoma. What does this all mean? I am in a lot of pain, the breast is swollen

Hi, dear. I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
Your ultrasound breast report is not conclusive. They said you may have some stomal fibrosis or hematoma. You should go for FNAC of swollen breast. It will give you definitive diagnosis. Then if required go for surgery or medical treatment.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic.
Wish you a very good health.
