What Does High Range Of Eosinophilia Count Of 8% Suggest?

Dear Dr.

I am suffering from cold and cough for the past 4-5 months. I have taken some medicine such as livocet , mlivocet etc.. but it did not help. Recently i have done the blood test at pathology lab. The report shows the high range of Eosinophilia count i.e 8 %. Please let me know what to do.

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Eosinophils are one of the white blood cell (WBCs).
It is usually seen in very low percentage like 1-2 %.
Higher percentage suggest allergic disease.
Other conditions like drug reaction, parasitic infection etc also show higher eosinophils.
But in your case possibility of allergic etiology is more.
You are also having cough and cold since 4-5 months. And not improving with routine medicines.
So possibility of allergic cough is more in your case.
You need to start combination of antihistamine and anti allergic drugs.
You will definitely improve with this and your eosinophil count William also decrease.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
