What Does High Bone Density Indicate?

good evening, recently i broke my foot and was in a cast up to my calf for 2months. when the cast was removed the doctor commented that i had lost an unusual amount of bone density. what does this mean? should i be worried? and will it come back ... i am 53yrs old

High bone density may be seen with high calcium levels. It is possible for osteomalacia can cause this as well. Other causes include high osteoblastic activity and tumors can help it as well.

This can be seen with some types of cancers or with some types of diseases. Getting blood tests to test the various types of calcium, white blood cells, and tumor markers can be useful.

Seeing an oncologist for this would be a good idea as well.
