What Does Hepatomegaly With Diffusely Hyperechoic Echotexture Mean?

my liver (USG upper ab domain) report is Liver is enlarged(161.1 mm) in size, Hepatic echotexture is homogenously hyperechoic - ? Fatty changes / ?? Diffuse liver disease. Hepatomegaly with diffusely hyperechoic echotexture - ? Fatty changes. - ?? Diffuse Liver discase.

Hello. Read your query and noted the contents.

It shows that there is excesss fatty deposition in the liver. Its called fatty liver. Reflects that you have insulin resistance at the level of the liver. You could be at risk for diabetes and liver disease in the future. Don't worry. Things you can do is to cut down alcohol if you take any. Watch your diet and exercise daily. Do a fasting lipid profile and a liver function test. If its grossly abnormal you will be put on a drug class called statins to stabilise it. Good that you checked. Many patients commonly have this report in the routine USG that is done but not many deal with it in the right manner.
Its a warning signal.
