What Does Having High Platelet Count Of Child Indicate?

My son is 5 and has an elevated platelet count. Of course Google is the scariest place in the world to look up anything medically so I thought I would check here and see what you all thought. We are re-checking his count in one month (October 18). What happens if the platelet count is higher? What could be the reason for this rise? No recent illness, infection, surgery or anything. All other blood counts are normal including his B12 and Vitamin D. We had blood work done for a sleep study-the sleep specialist wanted to check all of his levels as he has a sleep disorder we are trying to diagnose.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Kindly, post the platelet count which you have been getting on repeated testing. High platelet count can occur in case of infection, inflammation, blood loss, iron deficiency etc. The platelet count needs to be correlated with clinical condition.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
