My daughter just texted me and said she got very sick last night and had grey vomit . Her stomach is always upset. I am wondering if this could mean bleeding?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
There are many reasons for having stomach complaints. Usually bleeding is noticed in the vomitus by a term called "coffee ground emesis". This is characterized by vomit that is dark in color with the same consistency as coffee grounds. If the bleeding is fresh, it will be red in color. Bleeding further down the digestive track is visible in stools as being black (as in tar). Also, any bleeding can be microscopic and not detectable to the naked eye.

In any case, your daughter's gastritis (stomach inflammation) should be evaluated by her family physician.

Be well,
Dr. Kimberly

before starting any treatment its better to go for an USG abdomen..by the findings of this scanning we may come to conclusion about her problem.so contact your doctor for that.thank you.
