Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I started feeling bad Wednesday morning and went to the doctor. my temperature was 98.9. My normal temperature is 97.8. The doctor gave me a C-pack? Took 2 pills Wednesday and 1 pill Thursday, I took pill Friday and my temperature has hovered between 99.5 and 101.8 since Wednesday evening. Just before I went to bed Friday night, I checked it and it was 100.4. Shouldn t my fever have broken by now and is this not unusual?
Yes, your fever should subside with this drug by now. In my opinion, you should get done blood report like CBC (complete blood count) to identify the cause for your fever.
If CBC shows leucocytosis - raised WBC count) then the possibility of bacterial infection is more likely and hence antibiotics should be started.
If CBC shows leucopenia (reduced WBC count) then the possibility of viral infection is more likely and hence fluids, multivitamin and other symptoms treatment are required. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Kaushal Bhavsar, Pulmonologist
