What Does Fever Along Sinusitis And Inflammation On The Face Indicate?

I have been fighting off what I at first thought was simply a bad cold. but after a week and some high fevers and bad congestion I think may have been a more serious sinusitis or something similar. My actual question for the last 3 or 4 days my face has been basically permanently flushed and feels warm (sometimes hot) to the touch. I ve never had this happen before and I m not sure if it s something to be concerned about or would be normal for what I ve been sick with.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You are very right , in the clinical context flue can give you pain and flushes of the face. However, if this has not resolved in so many days and you have developed fever; I understand this can well be sinusitis which some times can complicate flu. It is probably time, you should talk to your doctor, to confirm it and would give you some antibiotics .Sinusitis respond well to antibiotics, till that you can use some paracetamol for your pain and fever.

Dr Rahman
