Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, my bb s femur is measured to be 2 weeks behind her gestational age of 48.1mm whereas her ac is 1 week behind and hc is normal. The measurements were taken during the 27th weeks 6days. With the slow growth in femur length, is there any risk of dwarfism or other major issue?
Variation of one or two weeks behind milestones are usually not very significant. Also dependent on natural height and weight and structure of parents. Some Individuals have good height with short femur or some may have long femur but optimal height so that should also be taken into account. Also using calcium supplements along with folic acid etc., should be ensured.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
