What Does Echogenic Endometrial Foci Mean On An Ultrasound Report?

hi there, can you please tell me whether echogenic endometrial foci are something to be worried about and also should they be regularly checked for extra growth? I had a scan done in 2008 and have had no follow up since then. I have put on a substantial amount of weight in the last 2 years and wondering if this may be because of this? Thank you in advance - Susie

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is nothing but a proliferating uterine tissue. Consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated. You have to get frequent follow up in every third month. If the size is increasing, a curettage might be needed.

Hope I have answered have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
