What Does Ear Infection With Sharp Pain Near The Temple Mean?
i have this week had a relapse of the flu symptoms but now with hearing loss in one of my ears. i saw a pa and he just perscribed me amox said it was an ear infection. ive been taking the antibiotics for 3 days now and have noticed that my face seems to feel a little numb or like when novicane wares off after coming from the dentist. also im starting to have sharp pains right above my infected ear nearer to the temple. my ear doesnt hurt on the inside or when i tug on it but it is still muffled. is this the cause of the infection, antibiotics, or should i seek another dr soon?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Your history of flu, pain and blockage in the ear but at the same time developing numbness on the face followed by pain above the ear, not in the ear suggest that most probably you have developed herpes of the area. Please go for another opinion so that the diagnosis and treatment can be done. Take bed rest.
