What Does Dryness And Itching In Vagina Suggest?

Hey. A couple days ago out of nowhere my vagina began to itch really badly. It burns too and it s dry. I ve never had this before and i really wanna know how i can treat it, there are no bumps or whatever and i ve got no weird white substance or something coming out. Everything is really normal except the dryness and itching part.

Dear thanks for the question.

I think you have got fungal infection in vagina. It could be candidiasis. It can be bacterial too. Missing part is discharge but some time discharge comes later. As a practising physician I advise my patients with such symptoms to under go vaginal smear test to know the causative organisms behind it . In case of fungal infection a clotrimazole vaginal pessary is good option. In case of bacterial infection doxycycline is the required drug. It will be fine in a week. However these drugs are prescription medicines I would like to advise you to visit gynaecologist in your area for treatment.

I hope i have clarified your queries. Please write for follow up queries. I wish you rapid recovery. Thank you.
