What Does Discomfort In The Forearm And Elbow Indicate?

About 4 months ago I started taking atorvastatom 10MG once/day. I recently developed unexplained discomfort in the forearm/elbow of my dominate arm. I do not recall any incident or activity to explain this and it has lasted more than a week. Should I be looking at this as a side effect or something else? I had been doing 3/week exercises that included a triceps extensions. Since this onset it is impossible for me to perform this exercise.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Atorvastatin does not cause this kind of side effect. It could be due to some trivial trauma like sleeping on your hand in a compromised posture. Immobilise the affected arm in a sling for couple days. If the problem persist, consult an orthopaedic and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
