What Does Chest X Ray Showing Infective Changes Of Left Lower Lobe Mean?

My Father 70 years old diabetic since 10 years on Hemo Dialysis since 18 months Has recently visited a pulmonologist and we were asked for CT Scan report of the chest HRCT Plain following are the conclusions of report Findings are most likely secondary to acute on hold infective changes with collapse consolidation of the left lower lobe and associated mild to moderate left emptema. there is no definite mass seen in lung parenchyma Can you please let us further course of action? Can it be cured through antibiotics and what are the chances of recovery? Should we go for the surgery? Ali pakistan

I really appreciate your concern, if this is the parenchymal lesion then underlying etiology need to be known and it need to be treated accordingly and it can not be treated on tentative basis only, some time this could be age related too, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
