What Does Breast Pain After IUI Mean?

Hello Doctor! I went through IUI on 17th feb. took 4 injections of HCG 2000mIU/ml (on these dates:20/2,23/2,26/2,1/3), plus i am on duphaston and ecosprin. I had pain in breasts just one day after IUI but neglected as I am taking too much medication. But for last 3 days have too much swollen and paining breasts. Could these medicines also result in these symptoms?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
- IUI is a mode of assisted pregnancy where healthy sperms are instilled female body, nearing ovulation. The conception here is natural.
- You have been given hormonal support for the pregnancy ( in case it occurs).
This was in February. You are still on duphaston- which maintains hormonal supply .
Now your problem is painful & swollen breast . Considering your tratment, there are two possibilities.
* You have conceived following IUI. and the breast symptoms are due to pregnancy.( Mostly possible)
OR
* There is no conception. The continuos hormones given are causing the problem.
** To exclude one of these possibilities you should go for pregnancy confirmation test of urine/ blood.
Thanks.
