What may be some causes of faint traces of blood in vaginal discharge from a 69 year old women? Just started to occur a week ago but not everyday. I also have had the flu. Last PAP was a year ago, all was fine. A small benign polyp was removed at that time. Not sexually active any longer.
Post menopausal bleeding should not be neglected and further work up needed for that.
For initial work up per speculum examination, Trans vaginal USG should be done. Than if needed doctor will investigate further with dilatation and curretage.
Take care
Hope this will help you
Consult gynecologist for examination and discuss your case
