What does black bowel movement indicate?

i am taking pantoprazole and have black stools. I was treated for bloody stool in the emergency room sunday, given 4 blood transfusions and sent home feeling fine. I was dizzy and fainted but am feeling great. Tonight I had my first bowel movement and it was black. I am worried.

Hello,

As per your clinical history is concerned, please follow like this:

1) Do a clinical examination by your Doctor [gastroenterologist] and do few investigations like [Endoscopy and a stool exam for occult blood].

2) Regarding prescription medication discuss with your Doctor about:
a) Clarithromycin
b) Metronidazole
c) Pantoprazole
d) Sucralfate

Do follow lifestyle modifications like this:
1) Try to protect yourself from infections by frequently washing your hands with soap and water and by eating foods that have been cooked completely.
2) Try to avoid painkillers and if possible take with [pantoprazole].
