What Does Bilateral Patency Mean And Is Laproscopy Required?

doctor,i am 36 yrs,trying for pregnancy for 8 yrs.my HSG says, bilateral patency is good. but the doctor is insisting to do a laparoscopy. i need to know what does it mean by bilateral patency and is it required to do laparoscopy even if HSG report is good.

Hi,

Bilateral latency means that both the tubes does not have any block. Yes, sometimes, we need laparoscopy to see if there is any associated endometriosis or abnormal ovaries or any features of tuberculosis. These are the other reasons for not getting pregnant. You can ask your doctor always regarding your doubts. They will help you out of your anxiety and fear of the procedure.
