What Does Angiogrpahy As Coronary Artery Disease Suggest?

Dear Doctor,
My dad ( 62 yrs) has done coronary angiography in April At Delhi, and following is the Diagnosis :-
Type II Diabetes Mellitus HypertensionCoronary Artery DiseaseSingle Vessel Disease ( 70% blockade)
Few medicine suggested now we want to confirm the status of this, what will be the cost of coronary angiography in navi Mumbai, should we have to go for operation for permanent solution or by medicine it can be cured ?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Angiography is the visualization of the blood supply to the heart. This is a method in which contrast is injected from the groin and the coronary arteries are evaluated. If there is a 70 percent blockade like the one mentioned by you either an angioplasty is done during angiography and this opens up the blocked blood vessels followed by stent placement or medications can be tried.

Surgery is required only if there is symptoms and of there are other foreseeable complications on medical treatment.
