What Does An Ultrasound Showing No Heart Beat In Fetus Indicate?

Hello I m seeking a second opinion. I had an ultrasound just Friday gone. They told me I m about 6 weeks. They also couldn t see a heart beat. I was told that this could be a non viable pregnancy. I have also been getting blood test to test my hcg levels which are rising but not doubling as my dr said they should. Due to this she has suggested that I have a d&c next week. I m scheduled to have another ultrasound next wednesday to check one last time for fetal heartbeat and was told if that wasn t successful I should proceed with the d&c. My question is, is it to soon to suggest d&c. Could my pregnancy turn out ok?? I m very worried and depressed.

welcome to Health care magic.
1.If there is fetal pole, yolk sac and Gsac corresponding to 6 weeks with out cardiac activity - there are chances to get cardiac activity in a week time. ( if we consider that dates are wrong and things like that)
2.Normally 5 1/2 weeks trans vaginally cardiac activity seen, trans abdominally a week later.
3.Initially a medical termination is tried. after that D&C in early pregnancies.
4.There are still hopes but less, hope the best and get scanned. good luck.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
