What Does An Itchy And Painful Blister On The Wrist Indicate?
Thanks. About 3 days ago, I thought I had a mosquito bite on my right wrist. It itched terribly. The next day, it morphed into a blister that is about 1/4 x 1/2 . Right next to the big blister were two smaller ones. They are oozing and are very painful - I can feel it deep in my wrist area. Do you have any idea what it could be?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice
I have gone through your complaints and it could be bullous Papular urticaria which is a type of insect bite hypersensitivity reaction.
I would recommend you to apply topical steroid and antibiotic cream on the affected areas twice daily and take anti-histaminic like tablet Cetrizine once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.
Also go for a short course of oral steroids.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
