What Does Abnormal Growth In Urine Test For Pregnancy Mean?

I sent a urine sample into the doctors on monday for a pregnancy test but they sent it for normal testing. I completed another urine sample for pregnancy and this has cam back positive. My other specimen came back with abnormal growth, what does this mean?

Thanks for writing to HCM

Abnormal growth in urine means you are suffering from urinary tract infection(UTI).
UTI is not good for pregnancy.You need medical attention.
You need few more investigations like routine hemogram,Random blood sugar,Renal function test and Ultrasound of abdomen. Further investigations can be done if needed.
Ultrasound of abdomen can detect other associated pathology.
At present you need proper antibiotics after culture and sensitivity report.
You should take medicines only after consulting gynecologist because many antibiotics are contraindicated in early pregnancy.
