Yes hello... I have a white spot on my tongue and I was wondering if it is a canker sore I had dealt with them all my life and today the right side of my tongue is lumpy its scaring me do you think it could be cancer or just hoping a canker sore? again on the right side and I am having a hard time talking and eating.. ty Dawn
A white spot on right side of tongue along with pain and lumpy feeling can be most probably due to inflammation and can be an inflamed tongue papillae or a canker sore that is severely inflamed..
As you already have a history of canker sores and if the lump is present since a few days then it is not a cancerous lump . This is because cancerous lumps or ulcers are non healing lesions..
So do not worry and start apply 0.1% Triamcinolone Acetonide gel over the lump and also do cool compresses over it.. You can also take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen.. Do warm saline gargles and take bland and soft foods..
If you do not see any improvement in a week consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
