What Does A Tumor On The Liver Indicate?
A 2mmx2mm tumor or spot was seen on the right side of my liver on an abd ultrasound I had done last week. I had Hep C but successfully completed Harvoni treatment and am clear of Hep C, but have fibrosis and non-alcohol related cirrhosis of the liver. I have a MRI scheduled for later this week. My doctor is concerned that it is cancer. Can you tell me what stage this would be if it is cancer or how liver cancer is staged. Is it by tumor size or spread? I do not have an appointment to see my doctor at this time. I m sure he I m sure he is waiting for the results of the MRI, but I have a million questions now. Thank you for any information you can provide.

We cannot describe the stage by ultrasound alone.
You have to get an MRI scan for further evaluation.
You can also consider a liver biopsy to make a biopsy.
