Hello and welcome to HCM, A tender lump on upper inner thigh can be due to enlarged lymph node. Lymph node enlargement occurs due to infection, inflammation or neoplasm. Infections of the urinary tract or infectious focus in lower limb can all lead to enlargement of lymph node along groin. Thus, I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment. Few investigations - urine examination and aspiration cytology of the enlargement swelling (most probably lymph node) will be required. Infection if present will be detected on urine examination. In aspiration cytology, cells are aspirated from the swelling, stained with appropriate stains and then examined under microscope.
