What Does A Swollen Lump Behind The Right Ear Indicate?
I have a quarter sized area behind my rt ear that looks swollen. It is soft to the touch, not hard and is somewhat movable. I am in great health otherwise. No fever, weight loss, etc. I may have had this for sometime-just noticed it recently. No pain when you touch it.
Understanding your concern. As per your query symptoms of swollen lump behind the right ear which are pointing towards a condition known as lymphadenopathy which is due to swelling in lymph nodes behind the ears. It could be due to infection of hair follicle and mastoidityis as well.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply warm compresses several times a day and do not prick them. You should consult ENT specialist or surgeon for proper examination. Doctor may order blood test ,CT scan or MRI to confirm the diagnosis and to rule out condition like cancer. You should takeantibiotic like Amoxicillin and clavulinic acid along with pain killer and anti-inflammatory medicines for 5 days .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
