What Does A Swollen Gland Below Ear Indicate?

I can feel a swollen gland just below my left ear on my neck. I don t have a sore throat. I am tired. I wanted to go to the doctor today but was only able to see a nurse practitioner, who only stated my left ear drum was retracted and didn t have any concerns otherwise. Im not a hypochondriac, I don t go to doctors often at all, my last visit was 10/2013. I feel like something is wrong. Should I see an ENT
