I ve got a rash in the middle of my elbow which is like a spotty circle (with loads of smaller spots around it), its similar to ringworm which I ve had before in the same area, however it sometimes twinges with pain, feeling like my skin is being pulled taut. Its not like a stabbing pain but its like being pricked with a needle and is very discomforting. I ve been applying anti-fungal creams to it for a while now but it doesn t seem to be going down. I ve also done the tumbler test so I m moderately sure that its not meningitis.
Hi. As per your case history you are having granuloma annulare. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesions twice daily. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine for itching. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
