What Does A Spongy Lump Above The Temple Indicate?

Hi my son is 14 and he has a spongy lump on the right side of his head, just above his temple. He complians of feeling tired alot (although he is going through his exams at the moment). The lump has been there for a few months at least now. Any ideas?

It doesn't hurt when you touch it.
