Hello, I have recently developed a small pea sized lump in my tongue there are no visible signs of this lump but I can feel it and it is very painful. It is towards the tip of my tongue but underneath I don't know what it is or what it could be, please can you help
As per you complain a small painful lump on the tip of tongue can be an inflamed tongue papillae..
It can be due to causes like iron deficiency, traumatic injury, soft tissue inflammation, initial stage of ulcer, inflamed papillae etc.
Nothing to worry as it will resolve soon..
You can apply numbing gel containing Xylocaine over it.. Do warm saline gargles.. Take Vitamin B complex tablet for a week.. Suck ice pops to reduce inflammation and pain.. Avoid any hard and spicy foods as they can further cause injury and inflammation of tongue..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
