What Does A Small Hanging White Skin On Tongue Indicate?

I have (On the TOP of my tongue) one small piece of what looks to me like white skin, though its kind of hard. When I tried to Cut it, because its annoying, I cant cut too low because it hurts. What I did cut off grew back, Its NOT that disease where you have a white tongue, nothing like that! Looks like a hang nail honestly. What is this????

thanks for your query, i have gone through your question, the hanging tssue from your tongue could be because of hairy leukoplakia or due to elongated papillae...or due to chronic irritation from a sharp teeth..nothing to worry maintain oral hygiene... if it is really troubling then you can get it surgically removed...do not try to cut yourself because tongue is highly vascularised tissue it bleeds lot...i hope my answer will help you..take care..
