Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I need help. i am panicking right now. a couple weeks ago, i noticed a painless red spot on my tongue and then after a week it went away. three days ago, it came back but it was really small. now i think it’s growinf a little bit every day. please help i’m panicking
Thanks for the query!
A red spot over the tongue that resolved and came back, then it is not to be worried for as any lesion that comes and goes on its own is not malignant.
A red spot on tongue can be due to inflammation of the tongue papillae due to number of causes like infection, traumatic injury, tongue bite, burning etc.
It can also be due to hematoma formation.
So for confirmation you should send me pictures of the red spot to me so that I can view it and advise you better.
For now you can do warm saline gargles and do cool compresses over it.
Take soft meals and avoid spicy food.
Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora, Dentist
