What Does A Rash On The Lower Leg Indicate?

I have had a small rash on my lower leg for about a week - it does not itch and is not spreading, but it also is not going away. I have tired hydrocortisone 2.5%, Neosporin, and Desenex foot powder. Plsu just soap and water. Any ideas what over the counter treatment I might try?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of rash on the lower leg which can be due to many reasons like contact dermatitis, dry skin, eczema, and heat rash or sweat dermatitis. It could be due to heat produced by rubbing of clothes.

Need not to worry. Apply ice pack to reduce redness and itchiness. Wear cotton pants. Maintain good personal hygiene. Use a powder to avoid sweat collection and apply calamine lotion at the sites of the lesion. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like clindamycin , oral antifungal or antibacterial depending upon the diagnosis .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
