What Does A Pimple On The Lips Indicate?

The day before yesterday I had what looked and felt like a pimple on the corner of my lip so I decided to pop it. It bleeded a little but started to heal like a normal scab would. Yesterday I gave my boyfriend oral sex. In the past I have gotten cold sores. Do you think he can get genital herpes from this? Please help!

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Well, a pimple at the corner of the lip can be due to causes like hair follicle infection or folliculitis while it can also be due to cold sores.

In your case if it was a single sore then there is less probability that it was a cold sore as they appear in clusters of fluid filled blisters.

So it is better to apply antiseptic ointment over it and let it heal.
If it does not heal then consult an Emergency room and get evaluated..

If it is ruled out to be herpes then it can cause infection due to direct exposure during sexual activity..
So it is better to get it evaluated first to avoid any chances of infection transmission..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
