What Does A Painful Red Lump On The Face Indicate?

Hi I m 48 yrs old and in 2009 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and 2months ago I finished taking my cancer meds. With that being said, about 6 mo ago I felt a small lump on my face around my check, within the last 2 weeks it has tripled in size and is getting red and its starting to hurt to the touch.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
Hard to say, but this is possible lymph node or carbuncul. In every case if there is malignant disease in history, you should see oncologist and have this lump biopsied. If there is redness and pus, you ll need antibiotic therapy and surgical drainage.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
