What Does A Painful Bump On Finger Indicate?

i have this bump on my finger. it s like a callus but very tender. it gets pretty painful if something touches it. it is in the crease of my finger where it bends. i have tried cutting it off, freeze off, and other things. nothing is working. i m pretty sure its not a wart.
