What Does A Painful Bruise On The Toenail Indicate?

Hi, thank you for your help. On my toe at the bottom of my toenail has a round sore that is starting to indent my toenail. It has gone away and come back and is painful when first coming back again, it comes out as a red spot, then turns into a sore that looks like it would have pus inside it but it is dry when squeezed. It will scab over, heal and come back. Right now it is painful, raising up with a whitish center and it is red around it with a center that is really painful when touched. Could this possibly be a wart, should I go to my Doctor? I have had basil cell cancer removed on many parts of my body so I m a bit concerned as it is acting stranger than anything I, or my sister have seen. Again, thank you for being here for us. It usually happens if the nail gets crushed in an injury.
It can also be a wart.A physical examination is necessary to confirm the diagnosis.
Meanwhile some advice that I can give to you are:
-use anti inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen three times a day
-put ice packs to relieve the pain locally
