I got a boil on my labia major. It s very painful and tender, but a head hasn t formed. I recently moved to a hot and humid climate, so I tend to sweat alot in that region. But despite maintaining good hygiene, I still got this. And this is the first time I m getting it there. It s very painful and makes it difficult for me to walk. I have tried hot compress, but the head still hasn t formed. What frightens me is that I m on my period and I m scared of further infection. What do I do to get rid of it.
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
At this area it may indicate so called BAartholini cyst which is inflammation of glands in and around vagina. This is usually manifested with pain, redness, swelling, fever and pus discharge. . This is mostly caused by beta hemolytic streptoccocus and it necessitates antibiotic treatment with augmentin, or combination of ciprinol+ metronidazole. You should also, apply cold compresses, take nonsteroid painkillers such as ibuprofen 400mg and rest. If there is no improvement within 2 days, you should see doctor and incision and drainage.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
