Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My PCP has me to take a pregnancy test. I’m anxious & don’t fully believe I could be pregnant. My boyfriend & I use protection, I haven’t had any symptoms & I just had my cycle 05/09. I went in for a small lesion/lump on my areola & before I left she requested a pregnancy test. Could I be pregnant?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hello,
Small tubercles along border of areola on breast suggest rise in pregnancy hormones, exhibit earliest in early pregnancy that is why you were advised to go for pregnancy test.
Proper time for home pregnancy test is 8 days delay in menstruation. Alternatively, hormonal imbalance and irregular periods can cause such breast changes, these need investigations if pregnancy test is negative.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
