What Does A Hard Pimple On The Upper Lip Indicate?

I have an extremely hard pimple above my upper lip. It's been there for about 2 months and I've used hot compresses, hydrocortisone, but won't go away. I squeezed it and only became more sore and inflamed. Now it is very sore and throbs. About 25 years ago I had something similar in same area, and it was squamous carcinoma. Took 3 surgeries to excise it totally. I have Medicare and it almost takes an act of Congress to get a biopsy, as the doc insists that it is an old age spot. How should I approach this as I am concerned?

As per your query a hard pimple on the upper lip that has become sore can be due to causes like inflamed and infected oil gland..
But in case if you had similar lesion causing Squamous Carcinoma then you should be more careful and consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated..
He can do a clinical examination and in case of any doubt a biopsy can be done to confirm the cause..
In case if it is due to infection oral and topical antibiotics and anti inflammatory painkillers and cool compresses can help..
In case of carcinomatous change complete excision has to done..
So it is better to be early in diagnosis and prevent complications..
