What Does A Hard Lump On Jawline Indicate?

Hi. I have a hard lump on the inside, right side of my mouth on the jaw line. Only painful to touch and there is very slight swelling on my right side of face. It is next to a tooth that has a temporary filling as I was pregnant and didn t want treatment. The tooth will need a root canal as soon as I can afford it as my bub has now been born (3 weeks ago) Any thoughts on what the lump could be? Cant get to a dentist for a couple of days. Any home remedies to stop the face swelling?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have swollen lymph node under the jaw line and swollen face is due to abscess formation as the tooth that is filled with temporary filling seems to have deeply decayed and it is causing pus formation leading to dental abscess and it is the cause for swelling..
Doing home remedies will not resolve the problem as when the infection will not subside the pus will be formed progressively and it will lead to increase in swelling and pain..
You should consult a Dentist and get evaluated and he can do a clinical examination and an x ray and start with root canal treatment and also advise safer antibiotics like Amoxicillin that will help in reducing infection and painkillers for pain..
As of now you can take Tylenol for pain and also do cool compresses over the cheek for reducing inflammation and swelling..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
