What Does A Hard Lump In The Lower Abdomen Indicate?

Pain and hard lump lower right quadrant of abdomen. No fever and pain plus hardness (like a hard tubular shipped lump) comes and goes. When i sit down and am relaxed the pain subsides and so doe the lump. It appears to be in the area of the ilium (not sure of spelling) where the small intestine meets the colon.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

We have to rule out possible causes like obstructed hernias and cancerous growth of bowel.

Consult a gastroenterologist and plan for an ultrasound scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
