What Does A Dry Spot On Ankle Of A Child Indicate?

Hi, my 7 year old daughter has had a little rash look like dryness spot close to her ankle bone at at the back of her left leg and over the past 2 years that spot when upwards in a straight line up to the back of her knees. The dermatologist says it is a birth mark. But it really does not look like one. And It is not smooth, it is rough and some times itches. Do you might have any ideal of what it is?

HI
Well come to HCM
You have not mentioned that since how long it is being there if it is really since birth then this might be birth mark only, again if this does not cause any symptoms and not increasing in size then this could be birth mark only, and this is not since long being and recently appeared then this could be fungal infection, in case of doubt lesion can be managed with "Miconazole cream" hope this helps, take care.
I find this answer helpful
