What Does A Brown Bruise On The Thumb Indicate?

Hi - I have a brown bruise on the outside of my thumb. It only hurts slightly if I touch it. I don t remember hitting it against anything. I had the same type of bruise a few week ago on another finger. I have Lupus and Fibromyalgia. I was on a low dose of methotrexate for a few months but stopped taking it about a month ago due to the side effects. Not sure if this is related to my Lupus or if this is normal.

Hello,

If the bruise is there for less than 1-2 weeks and you have no bruises in other areas of the body, no bleeding gums or other bleeding problems very likely this is nothing to worry, you might have hurt it somewhere and you just don't remember it.

If the bruise has been there for more than 2 weeks or you have bruises in other areas of the body or other bleeding tendencies in your body you might need to see your doctor and make sure all is well.
