What Does A Black Spot In The Field Of Vision While Blinking The Eyes Indicate?

Last week I had an odd occurrence where when I would blink I would see black prominent spot in one eye only. It went away within a few minutes. However, several days later I feel my eyes are strained more and my vision is blurry. I work a lot on the computer and recently have been editing videos so I attributed the strain to possible overuse. However, at this point I think I will see my eye doctor for an exam. Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

This sounds like a vitreous floater which is a normal occurrence in many people but I would really like you to undergo a retinal examination as sometimes the same symptom can occur with a retinal hole. If that is the case we need to barrage that retinal hole with laser which is a safe procedure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harshita
