What Does A Black Bruise On Cheek Indicate?

Hi. I m 69, female, have what looks like black bruise inside left cheek. Severe, severe pain from what I THOUGHT was loose bridge directly opposite the bruise. It s about the size of 2 quarters. Didn t bite the cheek. Pain has increased over 2 weeks to include whole left side of face.

Hello,

I can understand your concern for black bruise on cheek. It appears from your query that you probably have got infection over the affected area. The typical symptoms of severe pain and blackening at the area indicates the same.
I suggest you to meet a doctor to get earliest therapy for the same. In my patients with your kind of condition I generally prefer to give oral antibiotics along with pain killer tablets. Do not try to touch or pinch the area.

All the best.
