What Does SGPT Level Of 70 Indicate?

Hi doctor.my sgpt level is 70 and my ggpt is 97. The rest of all the other liver function test results are normal and within range. Can you please let me know if this is dangerous? I am a 38 year old female and my BMI is 28.7. I have high total cholesterol 202 and high triglycerides.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

SGPT level with 70 IU/l is showing a 2 fold increase above normal. GGT level with 97 is also showing a 2 fold increase above normal.

Since you are stating that your cholesterol and triglyceride levels are higher along with increased BMI, the increase in levels could be due to overweight associated fatty changes in the liver.

Kindly take an ultrasound scan of the abdomen and consult Physician with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
