Hi,
LAD is left anterior descending
artery. It is a major coronary blood vessel supplying the predominant part of the heart. Any block in this vessel could lead to major massive
myocardial infarction.
The report says that at the origin of the LAD, there is lumen narrowing of 30-35% and in the middle part of the artery 40-45%. If there is a clot within blood vessel (
thrombus), it can get easily lodged and result in massive infraction.
Fibrocalcific plaque is due to
atherosclerosis.
Precautions you can take against further narrowing of the lumen are:
1. It progressively increases and way of slowing it is to control lipid levels. Try to maintain lipid levels within normal limits, using
statin group of drugs.
2.Also know the signs of myocardial infarction to educate self and others surrounding you.
3. At intervals also go for Stress ECG testing.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
