Hi Doc, Just visited a doctor for normal check chest check up. Had a chest xray, found normal; blood pressure 125/85; doctor said good; However when he had the ECG he said that for some reason the brain of the heart is a bit sluggish and needs to be explored. He has asked for a blood test;; I am worried a bit? My age 50. Male.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The blood pressure is within normal limits.
Sluggishness of the heart suggests that there is some abnormality in the rhythm of the heart.
Further investigations are required which includes an ECG initially.
ECG will assess the rhythm of the heart and pick up any abnormality in rhythm if present.

Thanks and take care
